Gyan Robinson was called to the Jamaican Bar in 2013 after which he subsequently joined Daniel Brantley as an Associate Attorney-at-law in April 2014.  His practice is wide ranging but primarily focuses on Commercial and Civil Litigation, Real Estate Development and Conveyancing, Banking and Finance, Estate Planning, Economic Citizenship, Intellectual Property, Commercial law, Contract law and Company law.


He is particularly versed in attending to commercial and real estate transactions both locally and internationally having dealt with property sales valuing up to US$10 million, due diligence for financing ranging from US$5 million to US$20 million and drafting and vetting security documents.  St. Kitts and Nevis being a hotbed for real estate development particularly with regard to its Economic Citizenship industry, Gyan has worked with Real Estate Developers assisting them with applications to the St. Kitts and Nevis Cabinets, St. Kitts Investment Promotion Agency (SKIPA), Nevis Investment Promotion Agency, to establish their real estate development as an approved development for St. Kitts and Nevis’ thriving economic citizenship industry.


Gyan’s company law practice involves him routinely rendering opinions on best business practices for local companies, and the use of Nevis offshore companies namely, International Business Corporations (IBC) and Limited Liability Companies (LLC) to manage client’s corporate and personal assets.  Additionally, he provides advise as it relates to banking regulations and compliance in St. Kitts and Nevis.  He is also one of the primary contact persons for intellectual property matters at the firm assisting with the registering and renewing of trademarks, patent applications and other matters relating thereto such as rendering general advice to clients regarding intellectual property matters.


A large part of Gyan’s Commercial and Civil Litigation practice involves him dealing with contractual disputes involving constructions agreements, debt recovery, property disputes, probate disputes, and judicial review proceedings at all levels of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court in St. Kitts and Nevis.


Gyan obtained a Bachelor of Laws Degree with Honours from the University of London and a Legal Education Certificate from the Norman Manley Law School (NMLS) in Jamaica.  He also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree with Honours in International Relations with a minor in Political Science from the University of the West Indies, Mona.  He has also received a Certificate for training in community mediation from the Dispute Resolution Foundation, Jamaica, in partnership with the Improved Access to Justice in the Caribbean (IMPACT Justice) Project.


While at the NMLS, Gyan was very involved in student activities as he was an active member of the NMLS Student Association, as an Executive Member in the capacity of Sports Representative.  Upon graduating from NMLS, Gyan was a recipient of the Richard Wayne Lee Memorial (Special) Prize 2013 for participation in protocol and etiquette, student welfare and showing an interest in the law school.

As trademark and patent agents, we assist with registering and renewing trademarks and patents, changing of address and change of name applications, comprehensive searches of trademarks and patents. We also prepare claims to assert priority rights over trademarks and or patents likewise, works of authorship for copyright matters.

Our litigation team represents a cross-section of entities throughout the world involved in antitrust disputes, commercial and contract disputes, debt collection, employment disputes, fraud and asset tracing, insolvency litigation, insurance disputes, tax disputes, personal injuries and public law litigation. We represent clients effectively in the most difficult and sophisticated contentious matters at all tiers of the Court likewise in alternative media to the Court that is, in mediation and arbitration proceedings. We explore all avenues of dispute resolution so that clients have a full and comprehensive framework of the various methods available to them because resolving disputes with as little interruption to ones business or life is crucial.

We advise on all aspects of Personal Estate matters inclusive of wealth management. We guide clients in drafting their Last Will and Testament, Trust Deeds, and can offer legal advice on estate management and planning. We are abreast of the most recent Laws governing testamentary succession being equipped to assist clients in applying to the St. Christopher and Nevis High Court for Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration to administer the deceases Estate within the Federation. As it relates to wealth management, we guide clients through the various asset protection options available to them as we help tailor products to suit their needs likewise explore various investment options available in the Federation.
